What Is an F-1 Visa?

Who Qualifies for the F-1 Student Visa?

To successfully get an F-1 student visa, applicants must meet certain criteria. Getting accepted to a school is to be expected; however, the key detail here is that the school that you are admitted to must be a SEVP-certified institution, which stands for Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

Another key point is that you cannot study part-time; your academic program can only be a full-time one.

As a student, you also need to prove that you have sufficient funds. To prove this, you must include your financial ability to cover your tuition, living expenses, and any other related costs.

Lastly, you must present evidence demonstrating your intent to return to your home country after completing your studies.

How Does the Change of Status Process Work?

To start your Change of Status Process you must receive a Form I-20 from the educational institution you enrolled in.

After receiving your Form I-20, our team prepares your application and submits it to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Once USCIS begins processing your application, you will receive a receipt notice. Final F-1 change of status approval typically takes three to six months.
